LOVES LAST GIFT... REMEMBRANCE

How do you repay 4 years of unconditional love, companionship, and friendship? The answer seems so simple, you can't. Yet when your truest friend, who has fought so courageously against Lymphoma says that it is time to sleep, and this is all that you can offer, you dig deep and call upon all the strength you have in you, and you let your truest friend go. On December 21, 2002, just 4 days after his 4th birthday, I said goodbye to my friend.... my "Big Man".

He was taken too soon, with so much left to do but I can't help but feel that he will always be with me and those whose lives he touched. I am comforted to know how much Archer meant to others by the response that his passing has brought to me via emails and telephone calls.

Archer is what I will strive to produce in my breeding program. His massive size, his gentle temperment and his glorious sense of humor. He will enjoy immortality through his son, Atticus as well as his other children and the many generations to come.

The Heavens have surely gained a shining star. Archer will be waiting and watching until we meet again.

Window to the soul

"Hamlet"

1997 ~ 2003

Now cracks a noble heart.--Good night, sweet prince,
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!
~William Shakespear~

My Hamlet left this life with the same grace and dignity to which he lived. After a glorious play with Atticus and Maryn, he retired for the night, never to awaken.
It was my one wish that Hamlet leave this world on his own terms, in his own time. He gave me that wish.

He was not sick or sickly. His great heart just stopped.

If I would have one more wish, it would be that all who love this magnificant breed have a "Hamlet" in their lives.

In my world of black and blue....
I miss my "brown dog".

Hamlet strutting his stuff!
